BLOOMINGTON -- Illinois High School Association member schools approved 10 amendment proposals in the annual by-law referendum that ended Monday, Dec. 16, including a proposal to rescind a football district scheduling system that was approved a year ago, and slated to begin in 2021.

GIBSON CITY -- Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley offensive lineman/linebacker Keegan Kutemeier was named to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Class 2A All-State Team.

PRINCETON -- Paxton-Buckley-Loda's longest season since 1998 came to an end with a 38-12 loss in the IHSA Class 3A state quarterfinals to Princeton.

STERLING — The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley football team ended its season, and its reign as the two-time defending Class 2A state champion, with a 21-6 loss to Sterling Newman Central Catholic in the second round of the 2A playoffs.
FARMINGTON -- After his team defeated Farmington Central 27-7 in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs, Paxton-Buckley-Loda head coach Josh Pritchard said to his team, "Even a bus can't slow us down."

GIBSON CITY -- Two teams from Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and two more from Paxton-Buckley-Loda are moving on to the Central Illinois Football League's championship games.
Bryce Barnes -- The former Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley football standout was part of the University of Illinois' field-goal unit in a 24-23 victory Saturday over sixth-ranked Wisconsin. James McCourt made the game-winning field goal from 39 yards as time expired with Barnes on blocking duty.
GIBSON CITY — Despite Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at times not being able to come up with much offensively, a strong defensive effort and several El Paso-Gridley offensive miscues gave the Falcons their third straight shutout win, 27-0.
PAXTON -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Youth Football Seniors team won 42-13 over Watseka in the Central Illlinois Football League quarterfinals on Saturday.
GIBSON CITY — Payton Kean scored a 65-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage, putting Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley ahead early and never looking back, leading the Falcons to a 42-0 victory over LeRoy in Gibson City.
GIBSON CITY -- Following his team's game last Friday against Tri-Valley, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley head coach Mike Allen witnessed LeRoy's contest against South Fulton the following Saturday.
Ariana Gentzler -- As of Saturday, the former Paxton-Buckley-Loda volleyball standout leads the NJCAA Division I in total blocks with 132 for Vincennes University while also producing 117 kills, five assists and 32 digs.
