GIBSON CITY -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda Youth Football Seniors team won 14-8 over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley in its regular-season finale on Saturday.
The Panthers will be the No. 2 seed in the Central Illinois Football League playoffs, and will have a first-round bye. GCMS, meanwhile, have the third seed.
The Falcons scored their lone touchdown on a 50-yard run by Aiden Sancken. They scored two more points on a safety by Ty Cribbett and Carson Maxey.
Defensively, GCMS was led by Aiden Sancken with 12 tackles and four tackles for loss and Connor Mueller, who had 10 tackles and one tackle for loss. Alex Martin also had a tackle for loss and recovered a fumble for GCMS.
Altin Nettleton, Avery Schlickman, Carson Maxey, Ty Cribbett and Ayden Lage all had multiple tackles on the day for the Falcons.
The GCMS Juniors won 10-0 over PBL, clinching the No. 1 seed for the playoffs while the Panthers have the No. 2 seed.
The GCMS Mighty Mites defeated PBL as well by a score of 14-12. The Falcons have the No. 2 seed for the playoffs while PBL has the No. 3 seed.
The PBL Mighty Mites will host No. 6 seed Momence at 1 p.m. next Saturday. The PBL Juniors will host No. 7-seeded Watseka at 3 p.m., followed by the GCMS seniors facing No. 6 Watseka at 5 p.m. in Paxton.
Along with the PBL Seniors, the GCMS Mighty Mites and Juniors will each have a bye week through the quarterfinals.
