PAXTON -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda softball team lost 12-7 Thursday over Watseka.

In the bottom of the second inning, Maddy Foellner walked, advanced to second base on a single by Emma Steiner, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a dropped third strike to cut PBL's deficit to 2-1.

In the fifth inning, the Panthers scored five runs to cut their deficit to 10-6.

SkyLer Eaker walked, Christina White singled and Lorena Arnett walked to load the bases before Baylee Cosgrove was hit by a pitch to send Eaker across home plate. White and Arnett scored on an error on a line drive hit by Foellner before Cosgrove scored on a passed ball.

Jolee Hastings singled and Mallorie Ecker walked before Sindra Gerdes scored on a Carly Mutchmore groundout.

In the seventh inning, Gerdes led off with a line drive to center field before Mutchmore drew a two-out walk, Jaden Bender was hit by a pitch and White singled to send Gerdes across home plate.

White and Gerdes each finished the game with two hits at the plate for the Panthers.

On the mound, Emma Steiner allowed nine runs -- four earned -- on six hits and seven walks with two strikeouts through 3 2/3 innings while Mallorie Ecker allowed three earned runs on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts through 3 1/3 innings.
