RANTOUL -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda seventh-grade girls basketball team won 20-6 in its season opener over Rantoul St. Malachy on Wednesday.

The Panthers outscored St. Malachy 8-0 as Taryn Rock scored four points and Addison Lavender and Aubrey Busboom each scored two points. In the second quarter, Sam Hewerdine scored four points and Tanner Graham tallied two points as PBL went into halftime leading 14-2.

In the third quarter, Lavender and Hewerdine each scored two points. In the fourth quarter, Busboom scored two points.

At the game's end, Hewerdine finished with six points while Rock, Lavender and Busboom each had four points and Graham had two points.
