MACKINAW -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley baseball team won 6-2 over Deer Creek-Mackinaw on Monday.

Daniel Jones drew a walk to lead off the first inning for GCMS (18-4) before Cade Elliott drew a two-out walk before Layne Harden sent both runners home with a double to center field.

Harden sent two runs home via a single to center field in the third inning after Nathan Garard drew a hit-by-pitch and Elliott singled to center field.

In the fifth inning, Hunter Brewer hit a leadoff single and Nathan Garard was hit with another pitch before Brewer crossed home plate on a Harden groundout.

Ethan Garard led off the sixth inning by reaching base on an error before Joss Nuss scored on an error on a ground ball hit by Jones.

Harden finished the game hitting 2-for-4.

On the mound, Nathan Garard allowed no runs on one hit and no walks with one strikeout through one inning. Wade Burton allowed no runs on four hits and two walks with one strikeout through three innings.

Cade Elliott allowed no runs on one hit and one walk through one inning while Layne Harden allowed no runs on no hits and no walks with one strikeout through one inning. Josh Nuss allowed two runs -- one earned -- on no hits and two walks with two strikeouts through one inning.
