LEXINGTON -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley baseball team won 12-2 Thursday over Lexington.

The Falcons (14-3, 7-1) scored three runs in the first inning.

Daniel Jones and Hunter Brewer each drew a walk before Nathan Garard doubled to left field to send both runners across home plate. With two outs, Wade Burton sent Garard home with a sacrifice fly to right field.

In the third inning, Brewer hit a leadoff single to left field before Cade Elliott hit a one-out single to send Brewer across home plate. After Layne Harden walked, Burton singled to center field to send Elliott home and Harden crossed home plate on a Braden Roesch sacrifice fly to center field.

The Falcons tallied three more runs in the fourth inning.

Josh Nuss reached base on an error, Jones singled to right field and Brewer walked to load the bases before Nuss scored on a Nathan Garard base-on-balls. Elliott singled to center field in the next at-bat to send Jones and Brewer across home plate.

Jones drew a leadoff walk with one out in the fifth inning and Nathan Garard drew a leadoff walk before Jones scored on a wild pitch.

Harden, Burton and Roesch each singled to load the bases in the sixth inning before Ethan Garard singled to right field to send Harden and Burton across home plate.

Elliott finished the game hitting 3-for-4 while Burton went 2-for-3.

On the mound, Roesch picked up the win as he allowed one unearned run on one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts through four innings. Nuss allowed one earned run on two hits and no walks with two strikeouts through two innings.
