GIBSON CITY -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School girls basketball team is coming off a season in which it made its first sectional appearance since 2005.

Ryland Holt -- The former Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley boys basketball standout scored six points while grabbing seven rebounds and blocking one shot and recording a steal for Minnesota State in a 78-71 overtime loss to Washburn on Friday.

Bryce Barnes -- The former GCMS football standout played for a University of Illinois team in a 38-10 victory on Saturday over Rutgers.

PAXTON — With a 25-21, 25-18 loss in the IHSA Class 2A Paxton Regional championship match to Unity, the Paxton-Buckley-Loda volleyball team concluded a season in which they set a school record for wins with a record of 30-6.

PAXTON -- Pitch Please capped off an undefeated (11-0) season in the Paxton Park District Kickball League with a defeat of Michael Scott’s Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race for the Cure via a 7-3 score Tuesday evening at Nelson Field.

On Saturday, the Paxton-Buckley-Loda football players and coaches gathered in the Little Assembly building to watch the IHSA Playoff Pairings Show to figure who who they would play in the first round of hte IHSA Class 3A playoffs.
