PAXTON — Shirley Ann Mineer, 90, of Paxton, died at 12:52 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2019, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton Senior Living.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, at the Paxton Evangelical Covenant Church, 260 S. Union St., Paxton, with the Rev. David Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery in Paxton. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, at the church. Baier Family Funeral Services in Paxton is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Mineer was born April 7, 1928, in Merrill, Mich., the daughter of Earl A. and Florence Johnson Weburg. She married H. Stanley Mineer on Aug. 13, 1950, in Paxton. He died Nov. 4, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Steven (Sharon) Mineer of Big Fork, Mont.; a daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Mineer of Paxton; and two grandsons, Alex and Andrew of Mineer.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Frances Adkins and Evelyn Baker; and a brother, Marvin Weburg.
Mrs. Mineer graduated from Paxton High School in 1946. She worked at the neighborhood grocery store on Union Street for a number of years and retired from Baltimore Aircoil in Paxton in 1986.
Mrs. Mineer was a member of the Paxton Evangelical Covenant Church. She was a loyal Illinois football and basketball fan. Nothing meant more to her than spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She always looked forward to Christmas time with her family.
