FISHER — Patricia "Pat" Wilson, 72, of Fisher, mother and sister of area residents, died on the evening of Sunday, March 24, 2019, at her home.
Her ashes will be placed beside her husband in a private service at Willowbrook Cemetery, Fisher. At a later date, the family will plan a celebration of life for all to attend. Lux Memorial Chapel in Rantoul is handling the arrangements.
She was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Gibson City, a daughter of Elmer and Genevieve (Ryan) Nickrent. She married Everett Wilson Jr. on Jan. 15, 1965, in Fisher. He died Feb. 9, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters, Sherri (Mark) Hendricks of Rankin and Stephanie Wilson of Gibson City; a brother, Bob (Pat) Nickrent of Mackinaw; a sister, Diana Johnson of Gibson City; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Hendricks of Rankin and Alicia Hendricks (Jacob Phipps) of Rankin; a great-granddaughter, Makayla Phipps of Rankin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving is a special friend of the family, Kirk Hagen of Gibson City.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She worked at Bergner’s and started the Ms. B department that sold career wear. That passion led to her becoming a manager at Stuart’s in Market Place Mall in Champaign. She then went on to work as receptionist and bookkeeper at Arends & Sons in Gibson City. She retired to be a stay-at-home grandma.
She loved her flowers, plants and gardening. She often received praise from passers-by. She spent happy times watching the birds and butterflies in her yard. She loved shopping, especially with the children and grandchildren along. She was known to always be dressed to the nines; perfect nails, hair and wardrobe were important.
