FORREST — Luci G. (Kaeb) Slagel, 53, of Forrest, daughter of a Cissna Park resident, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Private visitation for close friends and family was Monday, April 1, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Fairbury followed by a private burial in East Graceland Cemetery in Fairbury on Tuesday, April 2.

Mrs. Slagel was born Aug. 6, 1965, in Watseka, the daughter of Norman and Kathryn (Young) Kaeb. She married Paul Slagel on Nov. 12, 1988, in Cissna Park.  He survives in Forrest.

Also surviving are her children, Kayla (Trent) Kilgus of Fairbury, Andrea (Eric) Schurter of Salem, Ore., Lyndon Slagel of Fairbury and Kinzie Slagel of Forrest; two grandsons, Ryker and Nolan Kilgus; her father, Norman Kaeb of Cissna Park; and her siblings, Debra Kaeb, Brian (Elizabeth) Kaeb, Terry (Joanne) Kaeb, Warren (Jill) Kaeb, Maria (Robin) Stadeli, Katrina (Joel) Kuenzi and Chris (Anna) Kaeb.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Kaeb.

Mrs. Slagel was a member of the German Apostolic Christian Church in Fairbury. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be missed by many.
