WATSEKA — Josephine Fortner, 81, of Watseka, mother of a Roberts resident, died Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Watseka.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. Private funeral services and interment will be held.

Mrs. Fortner was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Fairbury, the daughter of Roy Hanshew and Mildred (Dunahee) Hanshew. She married Carl Fortner on Aug. 22, 1965, in Gilman. He died Oct. 31, 2003.

Surviving are her sons, James Fortner of Watseka and Joseph Fortner of Roberts; a sister, Betty Weber of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Dominic, Bryce and Aaron; one great-granddaughter on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Mrs. Fortner was a homemaker. She enjoyed horse racing and horse shows.

Memorials in Mrs. Fortner’s name can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or an organization of the donor’s choice.
