LeROY — Dominic Jarell "Dom" Mackins, 34, of LeRoy, formerly of Loda, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at his home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells St., Paxton. A celebration of his life will be held a later date.
Mr. Mackins was born March 7, 1984, in Gibson City, the son of Patricia Monroe and Terry Mackins.
Along with his parents, Patricia Monroe and Terry Mackins of LeRoy, he is survived by two sons, Dominic, Mackins Jr. and Davion Mackins, and their mother, Kristin Bounds of Saybrook. Also surviving are one brother, Damien Mackins of Loda; two sisters, LaToya Mackins of Rantoul and Terri Mackins of Rantoul; his maternal grandmother, Peggy Monroe of Loda; his maternal great-grandmother, Ruthie Mae Monroe of Rantoul; a special friend, Amanda Dean of LeRoy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cecil and Carrie Mackins.
Mr. Mackins spent his childhood in Loda and attended Paxton-Buckley-Loda schools. He attended Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington and was employed by Den Graphics in LeRoy. He was a die-hard L.A. Lakers fan and enjoyed camping and video games. His greatest joy was spending time with his two sons.
