AVON, Ind. — Charles Franklin Jones, 66, of Avon, Ind., father of a Paxton resident, died at 11:23 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at Heart of Hospice in Fort Smith, Ark.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 21, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home, with Sam Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Military rites will be accorded by the Hoopeston American Legion Post No. 384. Anderson Funeral Home in Hoopeston is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Jones was born Sept. 19, 1952, in Watseka, a son of Kenneth and Alma (McDonald) Jones. He married Anna Jones on Jan. 15, 1973, in Kentland, Ind. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Molly (Michael) Schwing of Paxton and Tabitha (Art) Hesterberg of Rantoul; two sons, Max (Lori) Jones of Hoopeston and Kenneth (Jennifer) Jones of Milford; one sister, Joyce (Richard) Pennuto of Alabama; two brothers, Bud Jones of Kentland, Ind., and Dan (Margaret) Henson of Watseka; 13 grandchildren, Zach Nuss, Tyler Ellis, Helene Ellis, Alexys Donathan, Jake Nelson, Courtney-Ann Schwing, Andrew Hesterberg, Heidi Hesterberg, Colten Hesterberg, Spencer Hesterberg, Kenneth Jones, Nichole Jones and Mackinzie Jones; and five great-grandchildren, Nichelle, Mason, Eiraden, Maverick and Phillip.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Margett, Alice, Alma and Donna; one brother, Louis; and one grandson, Ryan.
Mr. Jones was a truck driver for Rapid Response Inc. for more than 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a past volunteer firefighter in Florida. He enjoyed playing the guitar, woodworking and spending time with his family.
