CHAMPAIGN — "Attis" Marion Christman, 85, of Champaign, father of a Gibson City resident, died Friday, March 15, 2019, at the Heritage Health Nursing Home in Gibson City.
A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Bible Baptist Church, 4001 W. Kirby Ave., Champaign, with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at the church. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City.
Mr. Christman was born in Fonthill, Ky., a son of Squire Attis and Ada Pearl (Rexroat) Christman. He married Carole J. Stickels, and they celebrated 58 years together.
Mr. Christman proudly served a tour in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a U.S. postal clerk and 30-plus years as a sales and service representative for Aramark.
Mr. Christman was a dedicated member of the Bible Baptist Church in Champaign, where he sang in the choir, served as a deacon and taught Sunday school.
Mr. Christman had a great sense of humor and was friendly to everyone, which brightened their day. He will be truly missed.
Surviving are his children, Bonnie (Ed) Bein of Chesapeake, Va., Steven Christman of Champaign, Charles (Amy) Christman of Oblong and Victor (Shellie) Christman of Gibson City; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorene Gosser of Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole; a granddaughter, Abigail; three sisters; and one brother.
